This year sees the 40th year of the legendary 54 mile bike ride taking place to raise funds to help fight heart disease.

Right 2 Improve staff are taking part in the London to Brighton British Heart Foundation bike ride on the 21st of June. The bike ride begins at Clapham Common, London, SW4 9DE.

The 54 mile route will take participants through city roads into narrow, quiet country lanes. The route does consist of hills, the most famous being Ditchling Beacon at mile 46. After this epic climb participants will be rewarded with 360 degree views from the summit before descending to a triumphant finish by the sea.

There will be 15 rest stops on the route where there will be toilets and refreshment stands. These will be highlighted on the route map which will be given to every rider on the day. This will give riders the opportunity to take a breather to purchase snacks or just simply meet and chat to other cyclists.

The route will be fully marshalled with first aid and mechanical support along the way.

At the finish line participants will be cheered over the finish line by crowds in Brighton.
